Closing the Deal is a Strangers and Freaks Mission (Side Quest) in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Closing the Deal for 100% completion.
Gold Medal Requirements:
- Pulverizer: Use a melee weapon to beat up Avery
- Seized: Stop Avery’s car within 00:40

Starting Location: Closing the Deal

Find Avery in Rockford Hills
Meet up with Josh at the Billingsgate Motel, where Josh will happily point the way to Trevor’s reward in room 9.
When the cinematic is over, Josh gives Travis a new assignment. Instead of destroying Lenny Avery’s signs, you’re going to go after him directly and beat the crap out of him. Josh gives you Avery’s general location, and while you’re driving over he calls you to let you know he drives a green Pfister Comet. Once you are near the objective marker it will disappear and you will have to find the actual house by finding the green Comet. Luckily it isn’t much of a search, since once you turn onto Caesar’s Place, Avery’s house is the second house on the left.
Stop Avery
Avery is already in his Comet, parked in the driveway talking with someone. Even if you speed immediately into the driveway, he will pull out immediately and exit through the other end of the driveway onto Mad Wayne Thunder Drive. You’ll have to stop him quickly for the first Gold Medal requirement:
- Seized: Stop Avery’s car within 00:40
Follow him and use a drive-by weapon to shoot out his tires, then either wait for him to crash or force him to.
Threaten Avery
Approach his vehicle on foot, and ready a melee weapon for the next Gold Medal requirement:
- Pulverizer: Use a melee weapon to beat up Avery
Beat him with any melee weapon, but don’t kill him otherwise you’ll fail the mission. Hitting him once will do. Then you can steal his car if you want, but the beating got the message across. Once he walks away the mission will end.
