Chasing the Truth is a Strangers and Freaks Mission (Side Quest) in GTA V (Grand Theft Auto 5). This walkthrough shows how to get all Gold Medals in Chasing the Truth for 100% completion.

- Quest Giver: Epsilon Program
- Requirement: Complete “Assuming the Truth” and procure the 5 cars asked for
- Can Be Started By: Michael
Find the Alien Artifacts
After Marnie meets with Michael in “Assuming the Truth” and you buy/steal the five cars she asked for and deliver them to the Epsilon Program, she will send you an email that marks this location in Grapeseed. When you arrive Marnie and esteemed actor Jimmy Boston are waiting for you, ready to look for signs of extraterrestrial visitations. Jimmy will hand you something that looks suspiciously like an aftermarket PKE meter, and tells you to go forth and find your people.
Well that seems straightforward enough (Kifflom), but there’s a wrinkle in the Gold Medal requirement:

So during the mission, don’t ever press 
/ 
, and don’t switch into first person view where the detector is automatically visible. If you were doing this without a guide, you’d have to rely on haptic feedback from your controller to let you know when you were getting close. Luckily you’re here so this will be quick. There are three “alien artifacts” to find.
- Television – Approach the television behind this house, and just outside its chain link fence.
- Car Battery – Head down this slope to find the car battery near the edge of the bushes and near a willow tree.
- Boot – You can’t see the boot as you approach, but as you get near these three stumps Michael will reach down and pick it up.
As you approach each artifact, your haptic feedback will change from a pulse with increasing frequency until it becomes a continuous rumble that intensifies until you trigger a cinematic of finding the artifact. After you’ve found all three alien artifacts, and absolutely didn’t waste your time finding garbage with a Ghostbusters prop, Marnie will tell you that you’ll have to donate $10,000 to unlock the next mission. Go to the Epsilon Program website and make two $5,000 donations. Kifflom!
