Gold Medal Requirements:
- After arriving in Saint Denis, find Charles within 1 minute 50 seconds
- Kill all of the Guido Martelli’s men within 10 seconds
Starting Location: Beecher’s Hope, West Elizabeth
Talk to Uncle
Uncle has heard that Charles is alive and in Saint Denis. You will board a train and head there in a cinematic.
Once in Saint Denis, call your horse over while you’re being forced to keep pace with Uncle. As soon as you can move freely, mount your horse and gallop at full speed to the Saloon marked as a waypoint and ask the bartender about Charles.
He’ll point you to a fighting area to the north. Get back on your horse and meet Uncle there. You’ll run into Charles as soon as you enter the area.
He’s throwing fights for money, but as of this moment he’s about to get out of the game so feel free to bet on him if you want to make a little money.
Follow Charles to the docks to get his baggage, but find four of Guido Martelli’s men waiting instead.
- GOLD MEDAL: Kill all of the Guido Martelli’s men within 10 seconds
Trigger Dead Eye immediately as soon as you regain control and tag each of the four men. Kill them all in 10 seconds for the gold medal requirement.
Board the wagon at the waypoint, and try to keep your head down while Charles drives you to safety.
This finishes Bare Knuckles Friendships main mission in Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the next quest Home Improvement for Beginners starts.

If you mess up the 10 seconds part, you can kill yourself with dynamite to try to do it faster.

Just to be clear, you don’t need to kill all four men yourself. Charles can kill one (or even two). Also, not bothering with dead-eye may ne faster. Try to get a quick headshot on the guy at the back left, then kill the guy crouching behind the crate on your left, quick body shots are ok. Then, quickly snap the aim over to the last guy on the right (if Charles hasn’t offed him already, he will be running across from you towards Charles). Put some quick body shots in the guy and you’re done.
If you are uncertain whether you made the time limit, press left on the D-pad, choose to abandon mission, and then restart checkpoint.

Thanks! I was sure I killed all 4 in 10 seconds but when I checked it showed I didn’t. I would have had to restart the mission vs the checkpoint. Thanks

I set a red marker at Charles’ location before I started the mission. That way I had the most direct path laid out for me like GPS when I got on my horse. When I arrived at the saloon, I asked the bartender about Charles and immediately left the bar to mount my horse, skipping the whole conversation. This allowed me enough time to pull my pump action shotgun off the horse when John is forced to dismount at the fight. I used that shotgun to get super fast body kills on the 4 men.
