Borderlands 4 has a story that consists of 25 main missions. Each main mission takes about an hour, with some being slightly shorter and some slightly longer.
Borderlands 4 story took me 21 hours to finish.
The 21 hours is for a story-focused playthrough on easy difficulty and playing solo (not co-op). It can be done faster in co-op.
Borderlands 4 Story Length Estimates:
- 20-25 Hours Speedrun on Easy difficulty playing solo, ignoring side content.
- 25-35 Hours on Normal difficulty doing a small amount of side content to level up.
- 40 Hours doing a medium amount of side content.
- 60-70 hours for a 100% playthrough doing all Side Missions (excluding Collectibles and Contracts)
Time to unfog full map:
- Unfogging the full world map takes about 2 hours total, roughly 30 minutes per region when driving around.
100% Completion / Platinum Trophy / 1000 Gamerscore:
- Platinum Trophy / 1000 Gamerscore: 100-150 hours (25 hours story, 40 hours side missions, 10 hours activities, 10 hours contracts, 10 hours reaching Ultimate Vault Hunter Rank 5, another 20 hours to bring all characters to level 50 for their personal vehicles, a few hours for challenges and misc trophies).
- 100% Completion: 120-170 hours – this would be the platinum time + another 10-20 hours to find all 340 collectibles.
