Borderlands 4 Ready to Blow Side Mission Walkthrough

September 11, 2025 by imbroken963 Leave a Comment

Ready to Blow is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Ready to Blow Side Quest.

  • Starting Location: The Fadefields > The Howl / Idolator’s Noose
  • Quest Giver: Orts via radio call after interacting with one of the quest start objects
  • Unlock Requirement: Unlocks during Main Mission 3: Down and Outbound
  • Reward: EXP, Cash, Shield (Green to Purple), Vault Hunter Style (Taste Municipality), ECHO-4 Paintjob (Taste Municipality), Eridium
  • Quest Description: A lone missile failed to fulfill their one purpose – to explode. Time is running out before their systems completely shut down and leave them as nothing more than a monument to their own failure. Are they truly a dud, or can you show them what success looks like?

Objectives:

  1. Find missile
  2. Talk to missile
  3. Talk to Scrapper Orts
  4. Pick up missile launch system
  5. Collect missile components
  6. Return to Gigi
  7. Take Gigi out of missile/ Carry Gigi to launch area
  8. Build new missile
  9. Place Gigi in new missile
  10. Start launch sequence
  11. Defend Gigi
  12. Launch Gigi

Starting Locations: Ready to Blow

Ready to Blow has multiple starting locations. The earliest starting point is in The Howl region, at The Launchpad (faction town). Interact with the object on the counter where the Lost and Found machine is.

The other possible starting point is in Idolator’s Noose, at the missile where the first objective of the quest wants you to go. You could skip the first objective if you start the quest at the missile directly.

Find missile (only if starting the quest in The Howl)

Follow the marker on the map to a little town to the far east, in Idolator’s Noose. Once you approach where near missile is you will be radioed. This is also the alternate starting point of the quest, if you accept the quest here you automatically skip this objective.

Talk to missile

The talking missile is located in the center of that town lodged in a well. Approach it and talk to it.

Talk to Scrapper Orts

Once the missile is done speaking to you head over to Orts in the nearby building.

Pick up missile launch system

Grab the glowing item off the counter in front of Orts.

Collect missile components

Head to the first marker on the map, the location line will guide you there.

Missile Component #1: When you climb up the cliff you will see a grate ahead of you, grapple it to remove the cover. The first part is behind it.

Missile Component #2: At the second marker you will be ambushed by Manglers. Most will be juveniles but there will be one Badass Mangler. Defeat the Badass Mangler, he will drop he second part (blue item), collect it.

Missile Component #3: Head to the final marker and locate the green button around back. Interact with the button and it will launch out the final part.

Return to Gigi

Head back to the missile in the town and speak to it.

Take Gigi out of missile / Carry Gigi to launch area

Interact with the missile to remove Gigi. You must now carry Gigi to the quest marker on foot. If you use a grappling point or vehicle or aim down sights you will drop her, but can pick her up again. At the launch area there are some manglers that you should clear out.

Build new missile

To the right of where you put Gigi, stack up the 3 missile parts on top of each other and set the launch pad you collected from Orts before.

Place Gigi in new missile

Pick up Gigi (blue marker) and place her in the new missile (green outline).

Start launch sequence

After Gigi is done speaking to you, hit the button on the control panel to start the launch sequence.

Defend Gigi

The Order will appear down the hill, defeat them all and head back up to Gigi where more will appear.

Launch Gigi

After defeating The Order, head back to the missile and press the button again to launch Gigi.

This finishes Ready to Blow side mission in Borderlands 4.
