Old Lads is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Old Lads Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Dominion > Fades District (becomes accessible after Main Mission 18: Means of Ascent)
- Quest Giver: Raymond
- Unlock Requirement: Finished Side Mission Old Raymond
- Reward: XP, Money, Shotgun (Green or Purple rarity), Cosmetic: Vault Hunter Style (Haphazardous), Cosmetic: ECHO-4 Paintjob (Haphazardous)
- Quest Description: Dig Raymond’s lads out of the sewers.
Objectives:
- Find Old Raymond’s lads
- Power door
- Enter backroom / Talk to Padraic
- Leave hideout
- Return to watermill
- Defeat Order ambush
Starting Location: Old Lads
This mission starts in the same place as the previous mission Old Raymond. Talk to Raymond again.
Find Old Raymond’s lads (x3)
Raymond’s friends are trapped in the sewers. He sends you to rescue them. 2 sewer entrances will be marked as objectives. You’ll have to go to both, the one in the west contains one lad and the one in the east contains two lads.
Lad #1 – Tomo
Start by going to the nearest one, in the west of Fades District near Raymond. Press the button on the sewer gate to enter.
After entering, go into the first room on the left where enemies are. Defeat them. There will be a green outlined egg in the middle of that enemy room. Pull on it with R3/V to rescue Tomo.
Lad #2 – Orla
Now exit the first sewer and go to the one in the east. Again press the button at the sewer gate.
Inside, enter the first room on the right and you’ll see Orla trapped at the top of the room. Clear out the monsters. Then Orla jumps down on his own and is saved.
Lad #3 – Padraic (Enter Raymond’s ancient hideout)
After rescuing the first two, you get a new waypoint to the south of Fades District.
Go through the sewer gate, then inside turn the valve and walk through the wind tunnel with the spinning fans. Padraic is in the next room behind the door. We must power it on first.
Power door
Up on the east side of the room is a spinning fan. Walk through the spinning fan, behind it go around the wooden box to find a green battery. Pick this up and keep it in your hand.
Now with the battery in hand, glide from the fan to the scaffold in the south-west corner of the room. From there you can go through an air duct. Where you exit the duct you must put the battery into a power station. This opens the door.
Pull the grate to the right to get back to the previous room.
Enter backroom / Talk to Padraic
Go through the now-open door, talk to Padraic on the left.
Leave hideout
In the same room use the grappling point and climb up the ladder, press the button on the door to leave.
Return to watermill
Head back to Old Raymond (can fast travel to shorten the way).
Defeat Order ambush
The Order appears to ambush you and the lads. Kill the attackers. The mission ends right after they are defeated. Then Old Raymond offers a follow-up quest Old Tricks.
This finishes Old Lads side mission in Borderlands 4 and unlocks the next mission Old Tricks.
