Mob Mentality is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Mob Mentality Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Terminus Range > The Low Leys
- Quest Giver: Echo on table
- Unlock Requirement: Available after Main Mission 11: Shadow of the Mountain
- Reward: EXP, Cash, Shotgun (Green to Purple rarity), Vault Hunter Style (Claver), Eridium
- Quest Description: Someone called “The Boss” needs your special expertise. He’ll consider it a personal favor.

- Return to The Pit
- Defeat rippers

- Hand over The Boss’s mask
Starting Location: Mob Mentality
This mission starts in Belton’s Bore faction town by reading a log near the vending machines. It’s the start of the Auger faction questline for the Who’s the Boss? trophy/achievement.
Reach The Pit
Follow the quest marker to the north to The Pit.
Enter The Pit
Once you get close enough to the nightclub you will be prompted to enter. Follow the Mission Marker into the club.
Enter The Boss’s office
You can enter The Boss’ office by going around the ride side, go upstairs and glide over from the balcony. Or you can do an optional objective to get there (you can even do both if you don’t commit to going inside The Boss’ office at the end of either optional task).
Head straight and take the path on the right. You will see a monster named Numba One guarding an access to the office. Speak to him.
Go to bar (Optional)
The bar is in the main portion of the building under the Boss’ office. Approach it and you will order Numba One’s drink.
Give Numba One his drink (Optional)
Hop over the bar and grab the jug with the skull and crossbones on it. Bring that to Numba One and throw it at him, giving you access to The Boss’ office.
Sneak around security (Optional)
Instead of heading to the right, head to the left into the room. Locate the vent cover while facing east. Grapple it down and head inside. Once inside make your way toward the piping and from there jump to the ledge in front of The Boss’ office.
Talk to The Boss
Head to The Boss and speak to him.
Reach Thirst Scrap
Head south to the Thirst Scrap.
Kill manglers
Defeat all of the Manglers outside the building.
Talk to Pickett
Once the Manglers are dead, head inside and speak to Pickett.
Find another way in
Go out and climb onto the building to the southeast. Hop on it and then to the building to the west that’s right in front of the scrapyard. You will see a glowing green mechanism here. Look off the ledge to the south, look straight down and there will be a grapple point to grab a battery. Do so and head over to the mechanism and interact with it to ‘Deposit’ the battery.
Enter back room
Head into the entrance that just opened up for you.
Talk to Pickett
Head over to Pickett and speak to him again.
Reach dead drop
Head southwest to Gilded Drop where the quest marker is.
Clear dead drop area
Defeat the Creeps in the area, there are a LOT of them.
Find dead drop
Head up to where the marker is and find the Porter Potty when facing north-east, open it to find the mask inside:
Pick it up.
Return to The Pit
Head back to The Boss and outside will be an ambush.
Defeat rippers
Defeat all of the enemies outside. Then head inside and kill the rippers in there also.
Kill Numba One
Head to where Numba One was before and you will see Numba One hostile. Take him out.
Go to The Boss’s office
Head upstairs.
Hand over The Boss’s mask
Head over to The Boss and give him the mask.
This finishes Mob Mentality side mission in Borderlands 4.
