Bound for Launch is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Bound for Launch Side Quest.
- Starting Location: The Fadefields > The Howl
- Quest Giver: Rush
- Unlock Requirement: Finished Side Missions Null and Void > All Charged Up + potentially also requires having finished the main story
- Reward: Money, XP, Eridium, Shotgun (Blue or Purple rarity), Cosmetic: Vault Hunter Head (Down and Outlaw)
- Quest Description: With nothing holding them back, the Outbounders are ready to launch.
Objectives:
- Follow Rush
- Find Conway
- Take Rhodes’s tools
- Return to ship
- Defend ship
- Give tools to Rhodes
- Defend Ship
- Find Conway and flight crew
- Get flight crew to ship
- Say goodbye to Conway
- Kill launcher meatheards (x3)
- Defend ship
- Talk to Rush
- Walk with Rush
- Initiate launch sequence
Starting Location: Bound for Launch
This mission appears in The Howl, slightly south of The Launchpad (faction town). It’s only available after doing the first two Faction Side Missions Null and Void > All Charged Up and after making more story progress (should be there after the main story).
Follow Rush
Walk with Rush into the cave.
Find Conway
Conway is 200 meters north in a barn, talk to her.
Take Rhodes’s tools
Take the toolbox to the right of Conway.
Return to ship
Rippers are coming to attack the ship. Head back in the direction of the quest start, after a few meters this objective changes.
Defend ship
Defeat all the rippers on your path. Your allies will provide fire support and do most of the damage. If you’re underleveled you can let them do all the killing.
Give tools to Rhodes
Go back into the cave from earlier and place the toolbox under the elevator.
Defend Ship
More enemies spawn outside, kill them.
Find Conway and flight crew
Conway is found in the fields behind the barn from earlier.
Get flight crew to ship
Once again backtrack to the cave, but stay close to Conway and take out the enemies on the path.
Say goodbye to Conway
Interact with Conway inside the cave to say your goodbyes.
Kill launcher meatheards (x3)
Go back outside and defeat the 3 launcher meathead enemies.
Defend ship
Defeat the remaining enemies.
Talk to Rush
After the enemies stop spawning, talk to Rush.
Walk with Rush
Follow Rush to the barn where you met Conway earlier.
Initiate launch sequence
Interact with the button behind Rush to launch the spaceship.
After some talking with Rush, the side mission is complete. This finishes the Outbounders Faction Questline and unlocks the Pale Blueberry Dot trophy/achievement.
This finishes Bound for Launch side mission in Borderlands 4.

I have done the 2 pre-requisite mission for this mission and it is not showing up on my map. I can’t find Rush, and I have done a replay on the previous mission and still nothing. HELP?!?!

There might be a secondary requirement for story progress in this case.
I had done it after the main story. This one isn’t as quick to recheck as it’s late into a questline.
If you could check after each main quest when it shows up please let me know!

That mission is also missing for me. I’ve done everything in the Fadelands and Carcadia Burn so far.

Can confirm that you need to have the main story finished as a requirement. I did the first two side missions in the chain super early but this one didn’t show until post-game.

Hello first I want to thank you for the amazing trophy guide as usual and I did have the same problem but for me it was because I didn’t finish the main story after finish it I didn’t have any problem and I got the trophy.
