Null and Void is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Null and Void Side Quest.
- Starting Location: The Fadefields > The Howl

Starting Location: Null and Void
Talk to Rush south of The Launchpad (Faction Town) to start the quest. It spawns after Main Mission 6: Rush the Gate.
Check Conway’s Last Location
After Rush does some talking, you must head 520 meters to the east. Track the quest and the waypoint will guide you there. You must approach a bed on a destroyed metal building, but Conway won’t be there. After a moment the objective updates.
Take Conway’s ECHO log
Take the blue-glowing item from the box next to the bed.
Go to the next scavenging location
The next waypoint is 1000 meters north-east, in Hunger Plain region. It’s on a mountain, go over the wooden bridge to reach it. Then look at the caping chair and telescope at the cliffside.
Take Conway’s ECHO log
Pick up the ECHO log next to the camping chair.
Go to the next crashsite
Next location is 500 meters east, in Idolator’s Noose region. The waypoint leads to an intercom console at a locked door in front of a big metal building. If you’ve already unlocked the nearby safehouse you can fast travel there. If not, now is a good opportunity to unlock it, as you’ll need to backtrack to this objective again later.
Use the intercom
Interact with the intercom console to the right of the door. It will be highlighted in green. A guy called Chugs will confused you for a food delivery person. To gain entry you must find their food order.
Find hangry ripper’s order
The food is 500 meters south, in a search area at the bottom of the coast. When you approach the area the objective updates to pick up the 10 food items.
Retrieve ordered items
There are 10 items scattered in close proximity to a crashed car, within a 10 meter radius. They glow blue and are easy to see.
Return to intercom
Go back to the intercom. The rippers will now open the door.
Deliver order
Place the order at the green outlines on the box straight behind the door.
Kill hangry rippers
As thanks, the hangry rippers try to kill you. Return the favor and wipe them out. If they’re above your level range, an easy trick is to headshot them with a Sniper rifle from a safe distance behind the door.
Talk to Conway
You find Conway in a cage at the end of the ripper camp. Interact with the cage to talk to her.
Follow Conway
A crane will come to pick up her cage. Follow her cage. The crane will drop her off into a black hole at the end of the ripper camp. Defeat the rippers here.
Find crane controls
Approach the crane, then the “crane operator” will spawn, which is a special enemy “Erector Ed”.
Kill crane operator
Defeat the Erector Ed enemy under the crane.
Find crane controls (again)
Climb up the crane and flip the switch at the top.
Energize starboard engine
Interact with the green cogwheel across from the crane. If you’re underleveled, you can simply run past all of the enemies for this and the next objectives.
Energize port engine
To the left of the cogwheel, go through the door and use another cogwheel at the end.
Initiate warp pump
To the left of the previous cogwheel, use the grappling points to boost yourself up to the warp pump on the roof.
Reach Conway
Glide over to Conway in the cage, above where the black hole was.
Free Conway
Shoot the red claw above the cage.
Kill Chugs
Kill the camp leader “Chugs”. Some of your allies will spawn to help out. So if you’re underleveld you can hang back a bit.
Meet Outbounders
Talk to Rush and your other allies where you defeated Chugs.
This finishes Null and Void side mission in Borderlands 4 and unlocks the next side mission All Charged Up.
