Vicious News Cycle: Cannon Fodder is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Vicious News Cycle: Cannon Fodder Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Carcadia Burn > Grindstone of the Worthy
- Quest Giver: Penelope Streams
- Unlock Requirement: Started Side Mission Vend of the Line
- Reward: XP, Money
- Quest Description: Seems like this Vault Gatherer is ready to blast off. Could be fun. Could be hilarious.

Starting Location: Vicious News Cycle: Cannon Fodder
After talking to Penelope Streams at the start of Vend of the Line, she will fly away and spawns 3 “Vicious News Cycle” side missions across Carcadia Burn region. This one is on top of a mountain in Grindstone of the Worthy. Follow the road that leads up the mountain (from the north-west of the quest icon). Then climb the ladder onto a platform to reach Penelope.
Go to cannon / Charge up sky cannon
Drop down from the quest start, turn the valve.
Launch! Or maybe… / …add another charge / …add third charge / …see what this thing can REALLY do
Before using the lever, you can turn a valve a few more times. After each turn wait a few seconds and you can use it again to charge the rocket more. To complete the optional objectives you must turn the valve 4 times total until the rocket glows red.
Then pull the lever and it will launch the guy into space successfully. A very short quest complete.
