Borderlands 4 Price of Freedom Pt. 2 Side Mission Walkthrough

Price of Freedom Pt. 2 is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Price of Freedom Pt. 2 Side Quest.

• Starting Location: Dominion > Carcadia District
• Quest Giver: Vito
• Unlock Requirement: Finished Side Mission Price of Freedom
• Reward: XP, Money, Shield (Green or Purple rarity)
• Quest Description: Ready to protect your elders as they escape the dangers of the city? You can handle that, can’t you?

Objectives:

1. Reach pipe access with Joe and Sue
2. Use battery to power generator
3. Open pipe hatch
4. Cross radioactive pit
5. Shoot weak spots in pipes (x5)
6. Continue to cross radioactive pit
7. Open emergency hatch
8. Reach pipe exit

Starting Location: Price of Freedom Pt. 2

This side mission starts in the same place where Price of Freedom ends, in the Double Tap building. Talk to Vito by the door. He wants your help to get Joe and Sue out of the city.

Reach pipe access with Joe and Sue

Go out the back of Double Tap, in the alley go down the stairs on the right. Wait a minute for Joe and Sue to come through the door on the right. The objective will show as blue ‘completed’ in the meantime. They gate behind the glass is stuck and requires a power source to open. Joe suggests you look around for a battery.

Use battery to power generator

There’s a green glowing container in front of Joe and Sue. However, when you interact it will only say “Deposit” and doesn’t let you do anything. This can be a bit confusing because the waypoint leads here and nowhere else.

If you listened to what Joe said, he wants you to search around the area for a battery. This is not marked at all, it’s one of the only objectives in the game where you need to search yourself (not a bug).

Battery Location: When facing Joe and Sue, turn to the left and go across the bridge that has alien-looking vines around it with green glowing dots.

At the end of the bridge you see a ladder. Don’t go up the ladder, instead take the path to the left below the ladder.

It leads over another little bridge with a green container at the end. The battery sticks out of it, grab it. This is only 50 meters away from Joe and Sue.

Then head back to Joe and put the battery in the green-glowing machine.

Open pipe hatch

Flip the green switch to the right of where you put the battery.

Cross radioactive pit

Now go around the left wall and jump over the gap.

Shoot weak spots in pipes (x5)

There are 5 spots you must shoot, they will be marked blue.

1. Red-glowing pipe valve on the right of where you landed.
2. Red valve straight above the first one.
3. Jump back one platform from where you came and it’s on the big pipe on the side.
4. Directly below the platform you stand on, drop down to see the valve, then climb back up the wall.
5. On the ceiling across from the first one.

Continue to cross radioactive pit

Glide to the next waypoint. Try not to fall into the yellow water below.

Open emergency hatch

From where you landed, turn around and go through the green door. Go down the stairs and jump over the gap. Where you land, turn left, drop down to the platform below and jump across to the climbable wall. There you find a button you can press to open the hatch.

Reach pipe exit

From the button, glide over to the building at the end of the radioactive pit. Climb up using the grappling points and climbable walls and cross the hanging platforms at the top of the area. You will see Joe, Sue, and Vito behind a gate. After some talking, the mission will complete there. Vito will stay there and immediately offers the next quest Price of Freedom Pt. 3.

This finishes Price of Freedom Pt. 2 side mission in Borderlands 4 and unlocks the next mission Price of Freedom Pt. 3.
