The Next Quest Thing is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Next Quest Thing Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Terminus Range > Stoneblood Forest
- Quest Giver: Wayward Soul
- Unlock Requirement: Unlocks after completing the Side mission Sage Against the Machine
- Reward: EXP, Cash, Eridium
- Quest Description: The Life Coach is gone… or are they? Maybe they’re still with you. Maybe they were with you all along. Maybe they WERE you all along! Maybe… maybe you can convince this weirdo to leave you alone so you can put all this “inner peace” madness behind you.
Objectives:
- Lead Wayward Soul
- Teach Wayward Soul balance
- Send Wayward Soul to top of platform
- Pick up trash can lid
- Balance trash can lid on Wayward Soul’s head
- Pick up trash can
- Balance trash can on Wayward Soul’s head
- Pick up trash bag
- Balance trash bag on Wayward Soul’s head
- Find Wayward Soul
- Save Wayward Soul
- Talk to Wayward Soul
- Kill Kratch
- Make something up
- Check on Wayward Soul
- Talk to Wayward Soul
- Pick up rock
- Throw rock at Wayward Soul
- Embody Wayward Soul’s Negativity
- Accept Wayward Soul’s material burdens
- Kill rippers/Kill Wayward Soul
Starting Location: The Next Quest Thing
This mission starts in the same spot where the previous side mission Sage Against the Machine ended.
Lead Wayward Soul
This portion will autocomplete.
Send Wayward Soul to top of platform
This mission will autofail right away, nothing you can do about it.
Pick up trash can lid
Pick up the trash can lid that has a mission marker on it.
Balance trash can lid on Wayward Soul’s head
Walk over to the Wayward Soul and interact with him.
Pick up trash can
Pick up the trash can near where the lid was.
Balance trash can on Wayward Soul’s head
Interact with the Wayward Soul again.
Pick up trash bag
Pick up the bag of trash that was sitting next to the trash can.
Balance trash bag on Wayward Soul’s head
Jump up behind Wayward Soul and place the trash bag on his head mid-jump.
Find Wayward Soul
Head to the mission marker in the south in Cloudbank. The objective completes when getting close to it.
Save Wayward Soul
Here you will need to kill the Kratch attacking Wayward Soul.
Talk to Wayward Soul
After killing the Kratch speak to him.
Kill Kratch
It’s time to kill more Kratch. Be careful as there will be several Badass Kratch to defeat this time.
Make something up
Speak to Wayward Soul again.
Check on Wayward Soul
Head back to the north to the mission marker and as you approach the camp Wayward Soul will call you.
Talk to Wayward Soul
He will be kneeling just outside the Ripper camp. Speak to him.
Pick up rock
Look to the right and pick up the rock with the mission marker on it.
Throw rock at Wayward Soul
Throw it at the Wayward Soul to give yourself some much needed satisfaction.
Embody Wayward Soul’s Negativity
Speak to Wayward Soul again
Accept Wayward Soul’s material burdens
Take the quest item he is handing you.
Kill rippers/Kill Wayward Soul
Now that you’ve made Wayward Soul friendly with the rippers, kill them all.
This finishes The Next Quest Thing side mission in Borderlands 4.
