Borderlands 4 Dark Subject Walkthrough

Dark Subject is the 13th main mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Dark Subject Main Quest.

• Starting Location: Kairos > Terminus Range > Windspear
• Quest Giver: Defiant Calder
• Unlock Requirement: having completed Main Quest 12: Crystal Brawl
• Recommended Level: 17
• Reward: XP, Money, Eridium, Rare Pistol & Tiger of Partali Vault Hunter Style
• Quest Description: Vile Lictor is toying with dangerous energies, which is not the kind of thing you want a guy named Vile Lictor to be doing. Infiltrate his black site and get to the bottom of his shady plans.

2. Meet with Amara
3. Find Lilith & Kill creeps
4. Find Lilith & Kill Tim
5. Find Lilith & Break into black site
6. Find Lilith & Enter black site

Starting Location: Dark Subject

Return to Defiant Calder

You can return to Defiant by fast traveling to Belton’s Bore.

Meet with Amara

Now follow the quest marker to find Amara.

Find Lilith & Kill creeps

Follow Amara to the next Area and kill all enemies here.

Find Lilith & Kill Tim

After killing the previous enemies, Tim and a few more enemies will appear. Kill them all.

Find Lilith & Break into black site

Now pull out the rid from the wall with the grappling hook.

Find Lilith & Enter black site

Then enter the now-open black site.

Find Lilith

Once inside, follow the path.

Find Lilith & Kill escaped experiments

You will reach a room with some enemies, kill them all.

Find Lilith & Open door

After killing the enemies, open the door by interacting with the terminal near the door.

Find Lilith & Enter quarantined lab

Go through the now-open door.

Find Lilith & Activate holo-table

You will reach a room with a big table. Interact with it.

Find Lilith & Kill test subject

A miniboss will appear. To damage him, you need to destroy the crystals on his body. But be quick when damaging him, as the crystal will reappear.

Find Lilith & Delve deeper

Now pull out the grid from the wall and walk through the vent.

Find Lilith & Kill creeps

You will reach another room with enemies, kill them all.

Find Lilith

Then, interact with the terminal and go to the purple portal to trigger a cutscene.

Follow Amara

After the cutscene, follow Amara to the outside.

This finishes Dark Subject in Borderlands 4.
