Overwriting a Wrong is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Overwriting a Wrong Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Dominion > Carcadia District
- Quest Giver: Terry
- Unlock Requirement: Available after Main Mission 18: Means of Ascent
- Reward: XP, Money, SMG (Green or Purple rarity)
- Quest Description: The creator of The Timekeeper’s killer drones needs your help reprogramming them to be less… you know. Killer.
Objectives:
- Take modified ECHO log
- Enter drone factory
- Find complete drone
- Start virus upload to drone
- Reach first jammer
- Hack first jammer
- Destroy first jammer’s nodes
- Hack second jammer / Destroy second jammer’s nodes
- Hack third jammer / Destroy third jammer’s nodes

Starting Location: Overwriting a Wrong
Talk to Terry in a building in the south of Dominion’s Carcadia District. It will get marked when unfogging the map near it.
Take modified ECHO log
The quest giver will hand you an ECHO log, take it. He accidentally made the drones that fly around the city for the Timekeeper, and he wants to upload a virus to take them back.
Enter drone factory
Use the grappling point above the quest giver and go through the gate there.
Find complete drone
After entering the area, head left to find the drone on the back of a truck.
Start virus upload to drone
Interact with the complete drone. The hack will immediately fail because there are jammers blocking the signal. Terry will tell you to destroy the 3 jammers.
Reach first jammer
Found in the same area in the north, on the roof of a small building.
Hack first jammer
Interact with the computer on the roof.
Destroy first jammer’s nodes
There will be some red triangles floating in the air above the computer, destroy them. Some enemies spawn after this.
Hack second jammer / Destroy second jammer’s nodes
In the same area, at the west end, use the second computer there. This time there are red triangles and blue balls floating above it. Destroy ONLY the red triangles, not the blue balls. If you hit a blue ball it fails the hack and you must redo it.
Hack third jammer / Destroy third jammer’s nodes
Found at the south end in the same area, use the grappling point there to go upstairs.
Again destroy only the red triangles, not the blue balls.
Return to drone
Go back to the drone from earlier.
Upload virus / Destroy red Order nodes
Interact with the drone again. This time the upload will work correctly. Just like before, red triangles will appear above it, shoot those and not the blue balls.
Code compiled
There will be a counter on the left that slowly updates from 0 to 100. Enemies will spawn while this is ongoing, fend them off and wait for the process to advance.
Destroy red Order nodes
At 60/100 progress, the compiler will stop and it will show “IMMUNE” above the drone. There will be a single red triangle flying above it, shoot that and the process continues.
At 70/100 and 92/100 it stops again and you must shoot the red triangles again. Don’t hit the blue balls or it will stop the upload and you must reupload the virus again.
After the compiler is 100% done, Terry will call you and the mission is done.
