Summoner’s Gift is a side mission in Borderlands 4 DLC #1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Summoner’s Gift Side Quest.
- DLC required: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned
- Starting Location: Kairos > The Whispering Glacier > Crooked Teeth
- Quest Giver: Belle
- Unlock Requirement: having finished Main Quest 4: What Lies Dreaming
- Reward: Money, XP, Eridium, SMG (Green or Blue rarity), Cosmetic: Vault Hunter Head
- Quest Description: Sure, summoning a legendary demon that wll either devour you whole or grant you anything you desire SOUNDS like fun, but that’s because it absolutely is.
Objectives:
- Talk to leader
- Reach tomb
- Retrieve ancient egg & Explore cave
- Retrieve ancient egg & Search for egg
- Retrieve ancient egg & Reach height and prove strength
- Reach heart
- Kill scavs
- Examine heart
- Activate device
- Retrieve heart & Match fragments
- Return to summoning site
- Place items
- Exit summoning circle
- Kill summoners
- Talk to Greg
Starting Location: Summoner’s Gift
Talk to leader
Just talk to the leader in front of you.
Reach tomb
Then head to the tomb in the northern part of the map.
Retrieve ancient egg & Explore cave
Enter the cave and do a ground slam to get into the cave. Then follow the path until you get out of the water.
Retrieve ancient egg & Search for egg
Once you get out of the water, turn right and interact with the egg.
Retrieve ancient egg & Reach height and prove strength
Then get up the path above the egg and do a groundslam into the circle. After that, you can pick up the egg.
Reach heart
Now follow the quest marker to reach the heart, located south of your current position.
Kill scavs
Once you reach the heart, kill all enemies.
Examine heart
After that, interact with the heart.
Activate device
Now interact with the device nearby.
Retrieve heart & Match fragments
Above the heart you see some symbols. And around the area you will find the same symbols. You have to match the symbols around the area with the ones above the heart. To do that, you have to use your grappling hook on a lever that is located next to each symbol. Look at the screens below to know from which side you have to look at the symbols to get the correct order.

After you did the third formation, you can pick up the heart.
Return to summoning site
Now head back to the summoning site.
Place items
Place the items at the ritual site.
Exit summoning circle
Just get out of the circle.
Kill summoners
After they summoned the demon, you have to kill the summoners.
Talk to Greg
Now just talk to the demon.
This finishes Summoner’s Gift side mission in Borderlands 4.
