Vicious News Cycle: Mine Time Live is a side mission in Borderlands 4 (BL4). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Vicious News Cycle: Mine Time Live Side Quest.
- Starting Location: Carcadia Burn > Ruined Sumplands
- Quest Giver: Penelope Streams
- Unlock Requirement: Started Side Mission Vend of the Line
- Reward: XP, Money
- Quest Description: One of those Vault Gatherers clows seems to be in a sticky situation. The nice thing to do would be to stop them fro blowing themselves up.

- Shoot bomb off William’s head
Starting Location: Vicious News Cycle: Mine Time Live
After talking to Penelope Streams at the start of Vend of the Line, she will fly away and spawns 3 “Vicious News Cycle” side missions across Carcadia Burn region. This one starts in the very north of Ruined Sumplands at the edge of the ocean.
As soon as you approach the location, the side mission starts automatically without talking to anyone.
Don’t get any closer!
There’s a guy on a rock in the water. He has a bomb on him. You’re not allowed to get closer or it will blow up the bomb. Wait for Penelope to finish talking to the guy. Then he instructs you to shoot the bomb from afar.
Shoot bomb off William’s head
Stay at the shore where Penelope is, ideally equip a sniper rifle. Aim at the red bomb above the guy’s head and shoot it.
This very short quest ends right after. There’s a red weapons chest on the rock where the guy stands which you can now open.
