Cyberpunk 2077 Only Pain Walkthrough

Only Pain is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Only Pain Side Quest.

Requirement: Complete Main Job “Playing for Time”
Reward: €$3990 (max reward) / XP / Street Cred XP
Mission Info: “To serve and protect…” Funny, would’ve thought “To extort and torture” might fit better. Not sure what this guy’s beef is with badges, but if you don’t step in, they’ll be scrapin’ him off the sidewalk. Once they smear him there first, of course. But I dunno… maybe it’s for the best? After all, no one in Night City’s dyin’ an innocent soul.

• Talk to the corpo

Starting Location: Only Pain

Choose whether to intervene or not

This job is sort of just found when you wander into an alleyway with a job marker in the Vista Del Rey area. Here you can see a group of NCPD cars.

There are three officers here, threatening a man in a suit who they’ve apparently been beating up for a currently unknown reason.

When you come near they tell you to leave, and you have a few options here:

• If you walk away, the job will just end and you’ll have no option for a reward or anything.
• If you threaten or attack the officers they’ll attack you back, and you have to shoot all three of them to proceed (this doesn’t trigger wanted level so you can just shoot them before they’re aware of you if you want).
• If you have a STREETKID background you can choose the two STREETKID dialogues, which talks the officers into leaving.

Wake the corpo

Interact with the man on the ground to wake him up.

Talk to the corpo

You can now talk to the man on the ground, possibly getting a reward out of him.

• If you don’t choose any of the COOL attribute options, you just let him go without asking for a reward.
• If you first either choose the 10 COOL option or the 13 COOL option if you selected another option prior, you can ask him for a reward.
• After choosing one of the COOL options you can then threaten him with the BODY option to get a higher reward from him.

Whatever the options you pick, he leaves and the job is completed.
