Cyberpunk 2077 Violence Walkthrough

December 27, 2020 by PowerPyx 20 Comments

Violence is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Violence Side Quest.

Area: Watson
Quest Giver: Unknown Sender (Lizzy Wizzy)
Requirement: Complete Main Job “Search and Destroy”
Reward: €$2410 if you tell Lizzy the truth and complete the 2nd part of the Violence quest that triggers later / no reward if you lie to Lizzy
Mission Info: Unknown number, anonymous client, a secret hotel meet-up… The aura of mystery ’round this one’s so thick I need a machete to hack my way through it. Wonder what’ll happen next… and what that means for you.

Objectives:

  • Read the message from the unknown sender
  • Meet with the mysterious client at No-Tell Motel
  • Talk to the client / Sit down
  • Go to Riot in the evening and ask for Liam
  • (Optional) Ask about Liam
  • Ask about Liam / Find proof of Liam’s betrayal
  • Check the security computer / Go to the VIP area
  • Check the cameras linked to the computer
  • Talk to Johnny
  • Steal the club’s surveillance data
  • Call Lizzy
    • Go to the motel room
    • Talk to Lizzy
    • Get rid of the body

Starting Location: Violence

Side Job: Violence starts by reading a text message from “Unknown Sender”, which you will get at some point after Main Job “Search and Destroy“. It doesn’t have a fixed starting location in the world.

Read the message from the unknown sender

At some point after Main Job “Search and Destroy“, the Violence Side Job should be added to your journal automatically. To get started, open the Menu > scroll over Journal > click the Messages menu above Journal > scroll down to “Unknown Sender” and read this message. This will initiate the next step of the quest.

Meet with the mysterious client at No-Tell Motel

Track the quest and head over to No-Tell Motel in Watson (Kabuki).

Talk to the client / Sit down

Go upstairs and enter room 210. There you will meet you client – a prominent musician called Lizzy Wizzy. She wants you to find out if her boyfriend is cheating on her (whether you agree to help her or not doesn’t actually matter, you get the next objective either way).

Go to Riot in the evening and ask for Liam

You must now head to the night club “Riot” in Watson, Chinatown. Make sure it’s between 6PM-6AM because that’s when the club is open. Simply walk past the bouncer on the front door and he should let you in (if not, you can go around the left corner, climb the dumpsters, shoot the latch on the extendable ladder and climb up).

(Optional) Ask about Liam

See the objective below. We’ll automatically ask about Liam in the next step.

Ask about Liam / Find proof of Liam’s betrayal

You now have two options to gain access to the “Staff Only” VIP area.

Method #1: Talk to the barkeeper upstairs. Ask about where Liam is. Then you can either pay him €$2000 “I’ll pay”, or intimidate him if you have 10 Body Attribute “Know what I can do?”. Either way he will give you the access card to the “Staff Only” door.

Method #2: If you’re playing STREETKID lifepath, talk to the bouncer at the main entrance and pick the STREETKID exclusive dialogue “Why protect that rich asshole?”. He will then grant you a staff access to the “Staff Only” door upstairs.

Regardless of which method you chose to get the Staff Access Card, you must now use it on the panel by the door upstairs. This will unlock the door.

Immediately after going through the door, take a right turn and you can interact with a door to call the elevator. Use it to get to the ground floor.

Check the security computer / Go to the VIP area

Interact with the computer on the left.

Check the cameras linked to the computer

Click “Local Network” > “Surveillance System” > “Remote Takeover”. Using camera 03: VIP Lounge, look at Liam talking to a woman. Here you will learn they have far more sinister plans for Lizzy.

Talk to Johnny

When they are done talking, it will automatically exit the cam and Johnny will talk to you.

Steal the club’s surveillance data

Click on the same computer again to download the surveillance data.

Call Lizzy

Now hold  to open your phone and call Lizzy Wizzy.

You can either tell her the truth or lie to her:

  • You were right, an affair… > the quest will end right away. You won’t get the next objectives, but the quest will be complete either way.
  • It’s worse… > you tell Lizzy the truth that Liam wants to make a copy of her. The quest will show as ‘complete’ for now but gets reactivated again later when Lizzy calls you. Then you have to go back to the No-Tell Motel and help her dispose of a certain someone’s body. This is the more interesting ending that leads to some extra quest steps. Be warned, this seems to bug out the option to skip time until Lizzy messages you a few minutes later / after doing some other tasks such as NCPD Events (‘cannot skip time right now’ bug).

Go to the motel room

Only available if you told Lizzy “It’s worse”.

Some time later (random, varies from player to player), Lizzy will call you again. This reactivates the Violence quest. Just keep doing other activities and skip time in between. It can take a few hours of actual game progression before you get this call, it’s just random when exactly. Lizzy will want you to come back to the No-Tell Motel, same room where you met her earlier. Go back there.

Talk to Lizzy

Only available if you told Lizzy “It’s worse”.

Talk to Lizzy in the motel room. You can agree to help her get rid of the dead body in her room.

Get rid of the body

Only available if you told Lizzy “It’s worse”.

And lastly, grab the body from Lizzy’s room and dump it in the trash chute in the hallway, same floor.

This finishes Violence side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).

Warning to everyone, avoid telling her it’s worse. There’s a game breaking glitch that happens to many people. When you go to the hotel and into the room, the dead body spawns below the game environment making it impossible to pick it up. It’s my last mission and I can’t get the achievement. I’ve reloaded countless times and have done tons of missions and then came back. It’s broken.

I just finished this mission without that issue, while picking “Worse.”

I’m having a massive problem with this mission. Why? Because I can’t even trigger it! I’ve made it all the way to the “Nocturne” mission of the game yet every time I go to the No-Tell Motel, I keep getting the “No Authorization Found” prompt on Lizzy’s door. WTF?!?

Based on what I read, this mission is supposed to unlock after the second mission with Takemura and Hanako yet I am stuck-stuck-stuck and is the last side mission on my map. Is it just another damned bug that I’m cursed with? I can’t find info anywhere about this!

Have you read the message by the unknown sender?

This walkthrough misses one twist. After getting the footage, you can actually go to VIP lounge and confront Liam. He will offer you money. During that conversation you will find out that it was Arasakas plan and it was them who wanted to do it in secret.

You can ask Liam to explain himself, then accept his money (810 ed) and then call Lizzy. You will still tell on him, there is no option to say that nothing happened. RPG all the way.

Also, you don’t need to go past bouncer – just jump to fire escape at the back yard. There will be employees badge in the first room.

?? It wasn’t arasakas plan, he says he was concerned because she’s been different and he thought the full conversion changed her.
Arasakas involvement is left vague, other than just research or that she’s a high profile figure to copy. They were the ones wanting to keep it secret though, yeah.
But yeah I’m surprised the guide didn’t include this step, he’s right there haha

But yeah he only gives you a measly 800 credits for the payoff, pretty weak

I went to the VIP area right after downloading the footage, and it was empty then, no Liam and not even the bouncer. Maybe they patched it so you can’t do both now?

I just got TWENTY FOUR THOUSAND eddies for letting Liam think I wouldn’t tell Lizzy. I am still gonna tell her, of course, but I wanted to post this here as my experience. 24k! Do it!

Ok, so it seems the VIOLENCE get bugged (but not) if Kerry’s quest REBEL! REBEL! is active. Both quest use RIOT location, and the game prioritizes Kerry’s quest, over Lizzy’s. Hope this helps.

I’m on the second part of the quest where you help Lizzy dispose of Liam’s body. Unfortunately for me and many others, Liam’scbody has fallen through the map and now 900m below it’s intended location. Developers need to respawn the body and ensure it’s not falling through the floor, possibly by moving somewhere else in the room. I only hope this quest isn’t needed to progress other quest, because I’m unable to complete it until they do something about it.

For those without a body I’ve just been able to get it to appear.

I tried going back saves, but that alone didn’t work

But going back a save, fast travel out of the city and then back again seems to have rewarded me with a corpse.

I just saw that if you watch the “Chip In” show on N54 there’s an episode where they talk about Lizzy Wizzy’s new BD, which is basically her murdering Northam. I presume you only get that episode if he dies, I didn’t notice it before the quest.
