Life’s Work is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Life’s Work Gig (Side Quest).
Area: Heywood (The Glen)
Quest Giver: Sebastian ‘Padre” Ibarra
Requirement: Street Cred Level 1
Reward: €$3100 + 678 XP + 1524 Street Cred & unlock Side Job: Sex on Wheels which leads to a free car
Mission Info: Gig type: Search and Recover
Objective: Upload a virus and retrieve Jake Estevez’s custom car
Location: McBride St.
Details: Why is it some unwritten law of the world that every talented techie has shit-poor character? Only God knows.
Jake Estevez is one such genius among techies and an asshole among shitheads. Fifteen minutes with the man and my barrel against his forehead, but good news is we found a way to get along.
Jake’s been a grease monkey for 6th Street about TWO WEEKS now. (Of course, I’m not on good terns with 6SG, but I do grudgingly admire their patience. It is, after all, a virtue.) Over that time Jake’s been doing a custom job on a car for them – his “life’s work,” he says. Designed the soft for it too. Remember I said he has shit-poor character? Yeah, well he pissed off the wrong pendejos in 6SG and had to delta and never look back.
Bottom line: Jake wants his precious car back. Go the 6SG autoshop, upload the virus I sent you and get it back for him – don’t scratch the ride and you’ll get extra. We’ll both be flush after this.
Objectives:
- Go to the autoshop
- Upload the software to start the car
- Get to Jake’s car
- Deliver the vehicle to Jake Estevez
- Exit the vehicle
- Talk to Jake Elverez
- Leave the garage
Important: If you engage in combat with the enemies (6th Street Gang) in this Gig, you won’t be able to get a peaceful outcome in Gig: Stadium Love. It’s recommended to solve this gig peacefully / stealthily (don’t start combat).
Starting Location: Life’s Work
Gig: Life’s Work starts in Heywood (The Glen).
Go to the autoshop
Head to the map location above to get a call from Sebastian. Head into the autoshop through the open garage door, the front door or you can force open the closed garage door if you have 6 Body Attribute points. Either way head straight in and make your way to the right of the shop.
Upload the software to start the car
Head to the right of the shop and sneak your way past all the guards by crouching and work your way up the metal stairs:
Be careful as there will be a guard on the top landing. You can sneak right around him and wait for him to move out of the front of the door. Once he has stepped away walk into the room ahead. Once inside close the door behind you so the guard doesn’t see you. Locate the computer in the corner of the room and install software.
Get to Jake’s car
Once you have uploaded the software you will need to work your way back down into the shop and into Jake’s car which is positioned in the shop in the bay with the door you could have forced open with enough Body Attributes:
Simply sneak your way back downstairs and head straight for the vehicle.
Deliver the vehicle to Jake Estevez
Once you get in the car simply take off straight ahead as the garage door will now be open. Follow the waypoint to Jake Estevez’s shop and pull the vehicle inside his garage. Try not to damage it, as this may be important for Jake’s follow-up Job “Sex on Wheels“.
Exit the vehicle
Once the vehicle is in the garage get out of the vehicle
Talk to Jake Elverez
Walk up to Jake who is sitting nearby ahead of you.
Leave the garage
Once the dialogue is over simply turn around and leave the garage to get a call from Sebastian which will complete this gig.
This finishes Life’s Work gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). Now skip a few in-game days and you’ll get a text message from Jake which triggers Side Job: Sex on Wheels where you are gifted a free sports car.
