Cyberpunk 2077 Fortunate Son Walkthrough

Fortunate Son is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Fortunate Son Side Quest.

Area: Badlands

Requirement: Complete Side Job “Queen of the Highway”
Reward: XP / Street Cred XP
Mission Info: Kidney failure. In the city, nothing that a stack of eddies and a few minutes won’t solve. But in the Badlands… a death sentence. That is, unless a gentle soul somewhere feels like playing guardian angel. Someone that’ll get him the implant he needs before it’s too late. Well, V? Think there’s anyone out there like that?

Objectives:

• Talk to Bob
• Go to the meeting with the hospital employee
• Meet with the hospital employee
• Take the briefcase with the implant
• Defeat the police
• Confront the hospital employee
• Return to the Aldecaldos camp
• Talk to Bob

Starting Location: Fortunate Son

Talk to Bob

At the Aldecaldos camp (which they moved from the middle of the badlands to the north as part of Panam’s side jobs), talk to Bob by the tent.

He lets you know Jake has kidney failure and asks you to go into the city to pick up a new one for him.

Go to the meeting with the hospital employee

Go to the marked location in the city in Little China, and around the back of the hospital building to where the hospital employee is waiting.

Meet with the hospital employee

Go up and speak to the employee waiting by the van.

Take the briefcase with the implant

Interact with the briefcase in the van door to grab the implant.

Defeat the police

Turns out this was a setup by the NCPD, and you are attacked by a group of them coming into the yard area. You will need to deal with all of them to progress.

Confront the hospital employee

Go over to where the employee was hiding by the boxes and they crumble pretty quick and explain what happened.

If you have 10 INTELLIGENCE you can select an extra dialogue option where you can question them on whether the implant has been tampered with. This is required to have Jake survive the operation when you bring the implant back, if you don’t ask this option V won’t know it’s been tampered with, and Jake doesn’t survive after the operation occurs.

Return to the Aldecaldos camp

With the implant now in hand, you can return to the camp.

Talk to Bob

Back at the camp, go to Bob in one of the tents and give him the implant.

If you found out about the tampered with implant, V will automatically let Bob know. He then tells you to come back in 8 hours (you can leave the camp area and skip time) to find out the result of the operation, completing this side job.

This finishes Fortunate Son side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).
