Breaking News is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Breaking News Gig (Side Quest).

You ever watch the news? Personally, I think it’s all propaganda. But that’s just me. Still, people watch, and some people make the news.

My client’s Ted Fox, an N54 reporter. He’s doing a story on the link between gangs and corps. On paper, they’re enemies, but in reality, seems like the corporate and gangoons are scratching each other’s backs. Key word – seems. Ted needs hard evidence.

That’s where you come in to save the day. Ted’ll tell you exactly what you have to do, but be ready to get onto Kendachi factory grounds, poke around. All clear? Head on over to Ted. As they say in the media biz – it’s showtime!

Gig: Breaking News starts in Santo Domingo (Rancho Coronado).

Meet with Ted Fox

After going to the Gig area, you’ll get a new marker just around the corner to talk to Ted.

Enter Ted Fox’s car

Hop in the passenger side of Ted’s car, and he’ll explain the gig to you.

Remain undetected [Optional]

This Gig has the optional objective of remaining undetected, and in this case it’s relatively easy to do instead of just shooting your way in.

Get to the parking lot

An easy way into the area is to go to the left where the billboard is, then climb up the boxes and on top of the security building rooftop.

Install the tracker

From the rooftop, you can drop off into the yard then follow the fence line to the corner where it meets the building.

The last window on the building can be opened to get inside.

In the first room, there will one enemy standing by a bookshelf to deal.

Then one more enemy to the left of the vehicle. Deal with them, then plant the tracker.

Leave the parking lot

After planting the tracker you can now backtrack your way out of the parking lot the same way you came in.

Collect your reward

El Capitan calls you to congratulate you on a job well done, then you have a drop-off point marked to grab your reward from.
