Cyberpunk 2077 Shoot to Thrill Walkthrough

Shoot to Thrill is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Shoot to Thrill Side Quest.

Area: Watson (Little China)
Quest Giver: Wilson
Requirement: Unlocks automatically over the course of the story (after Main Job “Playing for Time”, Wilson contacts you over the phone). Then it gets added to your quest log.
Reward: (If you come in first) €$500, Epic M-10AF Lexington Pistol
Mission Info: A shooting range competition? H0-ho, wonder what fun and prizes are up for grabs. Giant teddy bear? Inflatable sword? Tiny plastic football? Whatever it is, enjoy yourself, ’cause I’m sittin’ this one out. Don’t much like it when people treat weapons like toys.

• Listen to Wilson’s instructions
• Get into position
• Draw and aim your weapon
• Wait for the competition to begin

• Go to Wilson

Starting Location: Shoot to Thrill

Side Job: Shoot to Thrill starts in Watson (Little China).

Go to Wilson’s shooting range

After Wilson calls you when you complete the main job Playing for Time, you can go to the gun shop located in the same megabuilding as V’s apartment.

Talk to Wilson

Go into the shop and talk to Wilson on the left to agree to start the competition.

Entering the shooting range

Take the door in to the left, then stand at the open booth (4th one in).

Listen to Wilson’s instructions

Wilson explains the competition to the group. You shoot all targets in the range to score points, not just the ones in your lane. Pistols only, there is a Nue on the counter if you only had like a revolver handy otherwise that you can use, but would be preferable if you had something like a Lexington due to the large number of bullets it holds.

Get into position / Draw and aim your weapon

You have to stand in your booth and aim your gun downrange for Wilson to start the countdown.

Wait for the competition to begin

There will be a false start where Wilson boots a guy for only having a sawed-off shotgun (not exactly great for needing to reload) then the competition will start properly. If you want to make sure you win you should make a quicksave before the competition starts because this job ends and you can’t retry no matter what score/place you get.

Shoot the targets [X/100]

Once the competition starts you get a counter on the side of your screen, and the timer above your head counts down. Remember you need to shoot at all the targets even if they’re in other lanes to score more. Accuracy doesn’t matter, only hitting the targets do. You can also hit the target more than once to have it count for more points, so that’s why a Lexington or even a Kenshin since it shoots two bullets at once are good ideas for this.

Exact score to get first isn’t known (and could potentially change if the NPCs miss targets) but the two tries I did I got second place with 28 points, then first place with 50.

Once the competition ends, Wilson announces the winner.

Collect your reward from Wilson

If you got first place, you’ll be able to collect your reward: €$500 and an Epic M-10AF Lexington Pistol. You then get an optional dialogue interaction with Wilson then the side job is completed.
