Cyberpunk 2077 An Inconvenient Killer Gig Walkthrough

An Inconvenient Killer is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the An Inconvenient Killer Gig (Side Quest).

Area: City Center (Downtown)
Quest Giver: Dino Dinovic
Requirement: Street Cred Level 9
Reward: €$7120 / 565 XP / Street Cred XP
Mission Info: Gig type: Gun for Hire

Objective: Neutralize Jack Mausser

Location: 7th Hell Club, corner of Corporation St. and Ringroad West

Details:
I’ll cut to the chase. Jack Mausser – NC’s gonkest merc. Did a recent job for me and went too far. Way too fucking far. he was supposed to kelp some shards from a Zetatech transport – quiet-like. Except it wasn’t fucking quiet. That psycho offed every single guard, beheaded the driver and blew up the truck. Corp’s foaming at the mouth, searching high and low for the prick, and I’ll be damned if I go down ’cause of him. I need you to toss his head at their feet. Maybe then they’ll let this go.

Mausser owns a seedy club downtown called 7th Hell. Gut tells me he’s holed up there till the smoke’s cleared. I need you to get inside the club and take his psycho ass down – preferably on the down-low. Understood? Good. Let me know when it’s done.

Objectives:

  • Get inside 7th Hell
  • Avoid entering combat inside the club [Optional]
  • Find Jack Mausser
  • Get to Jack Mausser in the VIP area
  • Talk to Jack Mausser [Optional]
  • Neutralize Jack Mausser
  • Leave the club

Starting Location: An Inconvenient Killer

Gig: An Inconvenient Killer starts in City Center (Downtown).

Get inside 7th Hell

Your objective for this gig is to get inside the club and deal with Jack Mausser located in the VIP area on the second floor. You can get into the bar either one of two ways: going through the front door, paying €$500 or talking your way by if you have STREETKID background, or going through a nearby service elevator if you have a high enough TECHNICAL ABILITY.

Avoid entering combat inside the club [Optional]

Once inside you get the optional objective to complete the get without entering combat state. There isn’t much extra reward for this though and Dino doesn’t even mention at the end if you did, so don’t worry too much about it if you don’t want to.

Find Jack Mausser

Jack is located in the VIP area upstairs, and both doors will be guarded by enemies that don’t move at all, so they’re not really viable unless you’re shooting your way in.

Get to Jack Mausser in the VIP area

The intended stealth route requires you to first go to the second floor, where on one of the walkways there will be a door into a security room.

Deal with the one guard in there, then go through the next rooms and up the ladder to reach a walkway that goes across to the VIP bathroom.

Come out of the bathroom on the other side and you will be directly in the room with Jack.

Talk to Jack Mausser [Optional]

When you first enter the room Jack will start talking to you, and you can talk him into leaving the city if you want that outcome. Note though that any other enemies who spot you in this room will immediately start shooting at you, interrupting your conversation.

Neutralize Jack Mausser

Easiest outcome, just shoot Jack.

Leave the club

After resolving your business with Jack, exit the club to complete the gig.

    The way to do this one non-violently is to go straight to Jack without incapacitating any henchmen or hacking any terminals, I didn’t even talk to anyone except the bouncer on the door. Then I could enter the room and it was marked as a “safe” area, so neither Jack or the other guy inside were hostile. If you knock anyone out (inc. that one guard in the security room, before the ladder) then they’ll be hostile when you enter the room and you can’t use the non-violent option.

      I used a quickhack using the cameras in the security room and then just left the area. Figure System Reset would work or could just use Synapse Burnout and Detonate Grenade like I did.

    I used the whistle quickhack to get the bouncer to move from the door of the VIP room, went in and talked Jack into leaving Night City.

    There is a bonus in the nearest drop box if you complete the quest non-violently.

    As of 1.6, if you complete the quest any way other than convincing Jack to leave Night City, you are now required to take his body outside to a drop point rather than just leaving the club.
